Fear

“Fear is an emotion that can be a shared and social emotion, one which circulates through groups and communities and shapes our reactions to ongoing events…fear is contagious and can spread swiftly. Media coverage sets the agenda…when issues receive extensive media coverage, they come to be seen as more important by the public.”- theconversation.com.2/14/20.

“Repetition is a well known and prevalent propaganda technique used to solidify falsehoods and perpetuate fear in the public consciousness. By repeating specific phrases and warnings (wear your mask, socially distance 6 feet, etc.), and displaying symbols and images over and over through various mediums, those in power are able to paralyze entire populations with a fear psychosis.”-academyofideas.com.

In English language newspapers around the world, the words “fear,” “afraid”, the phrases “killer virus,” “deadly virus,” are repeated over and over again. -theconversation.com. 2/14/20. “When one is gripped by fear of a threat, real or imagined, their rational and higher cognitive capacities shut down, making them easily maniputable by anyone that promises safety from the threat. “No passion so effectually robs the mind of all its powers of acting and reasoning, as fear,” wrote the 18th century philosopher Edmund Burke.”-academyofideas.com.

“Ruling classes for thousands of years have understood the power of intentionally invoking fear in their subjects as a means of social control….the artificial construction and maintenance of fear in a population by a ruling class has remained pervasive from the time of Ancient Egypt up until the modern day. Oppressive governments often maintain their grip on a nation by continually invoking fear, and then proceeding to claim that only they, the ruling powers, have the means and ability to protect the population from such a threat.”- academyofideas.com.

H.L. Mencken wrote: “The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the population alarmed ( and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, most of them imaginary.” John Adam’s wrote: “Fear is the foundation of most governments.”-academyofideas.com.

“There is an antidote to the power of propaganda and fear mongering: that being knowledge.” Plato wrote: “Ignorance is the root of misfortune.” As long as we remain ignorant that all too often those who claim to protect us from fear are actually manipulating our fears for their own benefit, then we will be contributing to the misfortune of the world through our ignorant compliance…one must become an active truth seeker, instead of an all too common passive propaganda receiver…the disappearance of a sense of responsibility is the most far reaching consequence of submission to authority…F.A. Harper wrote: “the man who knows what freedom means will find a way to be free.”- academyofideas.com.

Conclusion: Paralyzing people through fear and thus obtaining social control, has existed since the beginning of human civilization. An intelligent, rational person, you would think, could recognize when they are being bombarded by false propaganda, via the media and the government. It’s evident worldwide that people have succumbed to group think and do not want, do not care to, do not have the desire, to seek the ultimate truth. To put things into perspective, people should start off with the one, basic question: “When was the last time your government (local, state, Federal agencies), was right about anything?” / Done

I started out a little nothing on Twitter 5 years ago. I always had a love for research, writing, digging for the truth. My very first writing class in Queens College, after I wrote my first paper, my Professor wanted to talk to me after class. Before I even sit down in her office, she says to me: “You’re very talented.” I said thank you, I appreciate that, but I’m also a practical kid. I knew pursuing writing out of college wasn’t a guaranteed job, so I became a Pharmacist. Now, as a Pharmacist for 44 years and an owner for 30 years, I now can devote time to my passion. My very first threaded tweet on Twitter was a hit, about how Sonny Bono was murdered, because even as a kid, I never believed that story that he died by slamming into a tree while skiing. It got a great response on Twitter and motivated me to do more research and writing. I was suspended from Twitter, but I always wrote on paper before writing on Twitter, and kept all my writings. I developed Thawts.net and took almost a year to rewrite everything onto my site. Now, anything I write is new stuff and about any subject of my choice. I hope you enjoy reading as much as I enjoy writing. Sincerely, Harvey Staub 👍🇺🇸

  1. Excellent! Common sense rules. Keep your eyes and ears open to the possibilities and not the fear. We will survive the transgressions of 2020 and on until 2022!!
